Reimagining Morehead Planetarium
I led a $9M renovation and reimagining of Morehead, a design/build effort with external exhibit designers, internal design and production teams, and university stakeholders to transform the visitor experience.
I structured the project with iterative design workshops, stakeholder alignment sessions, and integrated in-house media production to complement external exhibit teams. The project modernized the building, created interactive exhibits tied to UNC research, and introduced a new planetarium show, all while balancing storytelling, technology, and accessibility. The result was a cohesive, innovative science center that redefined visitor flow, connected audiences to cutting-edge research and university history, and positioned Morehead as a model for modern experiential learning. Aligning exhibits, media, and storytelling into a cohesive visitor experience. Freedom Rides Museum VR Experience
I served as executive producer, guiding the project from initial goals and scope through creative leadership and client relations.
The experience placed visitors on a 1960s Freedom Riders bus and in immersive environments blending photo-realism and archival imagery, with storytelling and emotional connection driving every decision. The project expanded the museum’s reach beyond its walls, challenged a team new to VR, and earned multiple awards for its innovative approach. An award-winning VR project that immersed visitors in the 1960s civil rights journey. |
Hidden No More EXHIBIT
As EP and creative lead, I designed the multi-format strategy behind NSF’s Hidden No More: a modular VR platform, documentary and animated shorts for different learning styles, and a traveling exhibit built for easy distribution. We tested and refined each stage with educators, researchers, and historians to keep the stories and the tech aligned. The project scaled nationally with 10 traveling exhibit copies shipped across the U.S. and a VR experience released on the Meta store, bringing hidden stories of BIPOC scientists to broad public audiences. A multi-format storytelling initiative bringing underrepresented scientists into the spotlight. Research Happens Here
Creating a four-film series for a one-of-a-kind immersive museum screen. I led the creative strategy and production of Research Happens Here, a four-film series designed for the NC Museum of Natural Sciences’ ultra-unique, large-format Daily Planet Theater. Each short combined interviews, archival material, and dynamic visuals to bring active research and collections to life, making complex science accessible and engaging. Working with museum leadership, researchers, and technical partners, I shaped the narrative, visual style, and production workflow to ensure cohesion across all four films and the theater’s immersive environment. The result was a repeatable storytelling format that activated the space, connected visitors to real scientists, and turned the Daily Planet Theater into a living window into science happening now.
