High in the hills of southern Peru, in a region ringed by volcanos and deep canyons is the city of Arequipa, the country’s second largest city. In fall 2006, journalism students from the University of North Carolina and Universidad Católica de Santa Maria worked together to tell stories about Peru’s White City, named for the white volcanic sillar stone featured in the city’s colonial buildings.
